Bruree’s brave county final journey came to an end on Saturday afternoon as Murroe-Boher proved the stronger side in the closing stages to take the title on a scoreline of 2-22 to 1-13.

In a tightly contested first half, Bruree produced some excellent passages of play, matching Murroe-Boher point for point throughout. With accurate shooting from placed balls and open play, the sides were level several times before Murroe-Boher edged ahead by a single point at the break, 0-10 to 0-9.

After the restart, Bruree continued to battle with great determination, and midway through the second half, they struck for a well-taken goal that kept them within touching distance. However, Murroe-Boher’s bench made a significant impact in the final quarter, and their use of the wind to penetrate our back line and create scores ultimately gave them the cushion they needed to see out the game.

Despite the result, Bruree can hold their heads high after a tremendous season. The players, management, and backroom team have shown outstanding commitment and pride in the jersey all year, bringing great excitement and unity to the community.

The club would like to sincerely thank all our supporters, sponsors, families, and volunteers for their unwavering backing throughout the campaign. Your encouragement at every game — home and away — made all the difference.

This group has given everything for the blue and white, and while the final result didn’t go our way, there’s no doubt that brighter days lie ahead.
