▪️Bru Ri GAA AGM

Our Club AGM was held last Friday night in the Rockhill Bruree Community Hall. A good attendance was present on the night. A minutes silence was observed at the beginning of the meeting for all in Rockhill and Bruree who sadly passed away in 2021.

Secretary David Deady went through the last AGM minutes. David then went through his secretary report which was an in great detail. He spoke about all the teams that represented Bruree in 2021. David also thanked his fellow club officers and club committee as well as all the players for there fantastic effort that all gave in the 2021 season. A special mention went to outgoing Club Chairperson Brendan Hogan. Brendan has been a very hard working Chairperson for the past 3 years and has been involved in other aspects of the club both as officer & Committee member and as a player and manager too. David thanked Brendan and wished him all the very best for the future. 2021 was again another year of the Covid-19 pandemic in which everyone did great in making sure all were safe. David went on to thank Shaun Riordan Noel Brosnan and Lawrence Sexton who all ensured that the jerseys were washed and ready for match days. He also thanked Noel Brosnan for all his help as Assistant Secretary and for his time he took out to cut grass on the pitch and to all who helped out in lining out the field. He thanked Declan Sexton for making sure that all players had membership paid and were all registered. This is a very important role and Declan did a great job in ensuring all players were sorted. David thanked Sean Deane who is the Child Protection Officer for doing a brilliant job in carrying out the very important role of ensuring coaches at all levels are vetted and safeguarded before getting involved in the underage setup. David updated everyone on the new gym which we hope to open up sometime in February. Again alot of hard work went into this and it will be a fantastic addition the the club. David thanked Tom Riordan and John Frawley for the work put into setting up the new gym and to the players who took time out to paint it.

Next up was the treasures report. Outgoing Treasurer John O'Halloran gave an excellent and detailed account of all of Bruree GAA's Income & Expendure for the last year. Even though it was a very tough year due to Covid-19 John and his fellow officers and committee did an exceptional job in running the club. John went through the financial statement in great detail. John gave a special mention to all the fundraising team which is headed up by Chairperson Eamonn Sexton and his fantastic team for their hard work all year. John informed all that as we face into 2022 we are in a very good place and it is a credit to everyone involved in Bruree GAA. John finished up by thanking all his fellow club officers and everyone involved in the committee. John gave a special thanks to Pat Hennessy Chartered Accountant for doing a superb job with the Finance report. John has done an excellent job as club treasurer and we thank John for all his hard work and time he put into this position. John now moves on to the top job of been the clubs Chairperson a position in which John takes great pride in, especially when his Father Noel was Chairperson for many years. We wish John all the very best as Club Chairperson for the coming year.

Next up was the Chairperson’s Address. Outgoing Chairperson Brendan Hogan thanked everyone for what they have done for the club. Brendan thanked his fellow officers and committee members and all the adult players for everything they all did to push the club forward. Brendan also thanked all the Juvenile officers, Committee, Coaches and of course the fantastic boys and girls who do Bruree very proud. Brendan spoke about how the club will continue to work with the juvenile setup to ensure we bring players through to the adult ranks. Brendan’s dedication in wanting Bruree GAA to be successful at all ages is there to be seen. The club would like thank Brendan for all his hard work and time he put into Bruree GAA. Although he is no longer Chairperson, he will still be there for the club as he will be in the club committee and is involved in the Club lotto also.
